Went to see Play!
I was so excited when my sis was able to get the tickets earlier this week. It was already sold out when we began to hunt for it weeks ago, luckily my sis tried out her luck and tadah~ 2 tickets to the center seat, wahhhh I feel so fortunate leh >_<
Here goes the play list:
1.PLAY! A Video Game Symphony composed by Nobuo Uematsu
2.Super Mario Bros
3. Shenmue and Shenmue II
4. Lost Odyssey
5. Sonic the Hedgehog
6. Metal Gear Solid
7. Blue Dragon
8. Kingdom Hearts
9. FF6 (dancing mad)
Intervel
10. Daytona USA (performed by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, original composer)
11. The Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion
12. Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross
13. World of Warcraft
14. HALO
15. Castlevania
16. The Legend of Zelda
17. FF VII (one-winged angel)
Encore: The revenge of Shinobi
After all the excitment, let's get to the main point. I was abit dissapointed lah, cos of the lack of effort being put by the players. Effort or not being put in, the performance reflected a lack of coordination, and practise. The lack of coordination shows up from different section unable to keep with each other, and lack of practise shows from the number of hipcups from a few solo performance.
Ok, since SFO is a get together group from different symphonic orchestra, for the purpose of the art festival, lets forgive them on the lack of coordination since they have their own dedication to their own group, anyway, they have some great performance on a few sets , so let's call it quit haha. But then its not very nice when individual have lack of practise shown. This event is a all sold out event, and people like me look forward to hearing their performance, therefore I can say it was quite disappointing after the performance. Even though its not a dedicated group but the lack of effort surely do bring things down. OK, maybe they think gamers dont know how to listen to orchestra? Sorry for my bluntness.
Anyway, the song list is a great line up, with the atmosphere slowly build up to a nerve numbing, goose bumps popping up moments( pardon for the bad use of describtion). I love Metal Gear Solid! The CG on the screen goes so well with the song, and I can say its the best song being played. The string section is very good! They are the group with the best coordination! Therefore the wind section really lost to them, mainly its because they are too soft. The suppended mic have to be compromised because of the screen for the CG therefore there's no sound enhancement for the whole hall hence the whole thing sounds with no impact. They got to settle this problem man......The solo performance from the wind section also shows lack of practise T_T and unexpectedly, I came to appreciate the sound of trumpet, as the trumpet player is the best wind performance I can say, BA!!!!!!!! Oh the choir is the next best thing! Wow! the whole unit can drown the whole instrument section with their voice, damn powerful! and the voice are indeed the important esscence to some songs.
I dont want to say much about this - The wind organ player can go home.
Overall I really am very happy having this chance to see this concert, its a concert not to be miss and I would feel very remorse not being able to see, even though the performance is not really good >_<
hao le, till next post~

So much for sg's efforts.

Thunder is loud, but small rain-drops. This is not the only show with such outcome!
Thanx for wanting to see it anyway!

haha it was sold out because most of the people went are gamers, I dont think those sought for symphony music would go bah haha. But quite dissapointed lah, cos they cannot think like we dont really know how to listen and dont put in effort one mah......
